Dr. Hafiz ur Rehman is one of the few herpetologists of Pakistan, who have devoted their lives for the promotion of herpetology in Pakistan. He did his PhD in Zoology from University of Karachi. His publication and papers include Kirthar National Park Baseline Environmental Study, Cobras in Pakistan and so on. In addition, he is a prominent figure in many national scientific conferences and has presented Pakistan on many international forums.
Vast experience and knowledge, extensive field research and participation in various research projects and studies conducted at national and international levels are some of the attributes that account for his command in his field. In addition, development of many technical papers and articles are on his credit. Apart from research work, Mr. Hafiz is also associated with teaching. He is a visiting lecturer at various institutions and also appointed as an external examiner for the PhD thesis.
Recently he retired from the Zoological Survey Department, where was serving for last thirty year as a Senior Wild Life Officer. He is now focussing on taking up full time research on the reptiles of Pakistan.
