Common Buzzard
Buteo buteo (Hume)

Identification: It is approximately the size of a Pariah Kite measuring about 51-56 cm. in length. It has a creamy brown head and patchy underwings. The tail is long, barred and round and usually expands in flight.

Habitat: It is restricted to foothills during winter. Common Buzzard frequents all types of forests with some open ground. It also likes open moorland with some trees, but in winter prefers wooded hillsides.

Distribution: It is a winter visitor to Sindh.

Breeding: The Common Buzzard is reported to breed in the Himalayas during April and May. It lays 2 or 3 eggs in a clutch.
