Brahminy Kite

Identification: Brahminy Kite is a two coloured Hawk measuring 48 cm. in length. It can be recognized in the field by its white head, neck and breast in contrast to its bright chestnut body and wings. The tail is chestnut in colour with slightly pale and grayish tips.
Habitat: It is common in the mangroves, tidal creeks, rivers, lakes and marshes.
Distribution: It is a resident bird of Sindh, Punjab & Balochistan.
Breeding: It breeds between the months of December and March / April.It normally lays 2 eggs in a clutch and occasionally may lay 3-4 eggs.
Food: It feeds on insects, crabs, fish, frogs, lizards, snakes and mice.
